Significant tooth loss isn’t just something you can live with. Losing permanent teeth affects daily activities like talking, smiling, chewing and eating. If you’ve lost most or all of your natural teeth, Dr. Sima F. Chegini can restore your smile’s beauty with full mouth implants. A visit to Arsmiles Family & Cosmetic Dentistry in Fairlawn, Ohio, can determine if implants are a good fit for you.
Implant-supported dentures are for people who have lost an entire arch or all of their teeth due to several different reasons. These restorations are supported by 4 or 6 titanium implants that are placed in the jaw surgically. Over the next 3 to 6 months, the implants will integrate in the jaw bone in a process called osseointegration. When the osseointegration process is complete, Dr. Chegini will attach connectors (abutments) to the implants to hold your dentures. Lastly, custom-fitted dentures are connected to the abutments to provide optimal aesthetics and functionality.Â
Full mouth teeth implants can restore your smile’s original function and beauty. After evaluating your condition, Dr. Chegini can determine if you’re a good candidate for this treatment. Ideally, implant candidates should have good oral and overall health, healthy gums, and a strong jawbone to support the implants. If you have extensive bone loss, you may need bone grafting before proceeding with your implant procedure.
The long-term, superior results of dental implants make it a wise investment. With implant supported prosthesis, you can look forward to:
