Your teeth work best as a team, which is why it’s essential to replace lost teeth when they go missing. At Arsmiles Family and Cosmetic Dentistry in Fairlawn, Ohio, Dr. Sima F. Chegini recommends dental implants for missing teeth. An implant can restore the natural function of your smile and its aesthetics, enabling you to eat comfortably, smile confidently, and carry on with your everyday lifestyle. Here’s what you should know about implant-supported dental bridges.
A bridge supported by implants will be strong, reliable and durable as a long-term investment in your mouth. It may cost more than a traditional bridge, but you’ll get the best functionality as well as aesthetic in restoring the smile you’ll love – making the investment worthwhile! Implant bridges can replace two or three missing teeth in a row, with the support of implants on either end of the bridge. The implants are placed in your jaw surgically, where teeth are missing and will need 3-4 months left to integrate in the jaw bone, a process called osseointegration. After healing is complete, Dr. Chegini will affix an abutment to each implant and then attach your bridge to the abutments and you have your smile back with our CEREC technology same day done and delivered at our office.
Here are a few reasons to consider an implant bridge to rebuild your smile:
The joy of having your healthy confident smile back again is worth the time, money and effort you invest in it. You’ll no longer feel embarrassed about your teeth or self-conscious about your appearance. A natural-looking bridge will give you the confidence to smile in pictures, laugh and enjoy the company of others again. Knowing that your smile is attractive and pleasing will boost your happiness, confidence, and self-esteem.
Your implant bridge will do much more than just restore the look of your smile. It will restore your smile’s functionality so you can eat comfortably and enjoy a wider variety of foods to get more nutritional value from your meals. The implants keep your bridge firm and steady when you bite and chew and it’s compatible if not better than a natural tooth. You don’t have to worry or fear that your bridge will come loose or worried to bite down on hard chewy diet.Â
Bone loss is a common problem after tooth loss. The implants supporting your bridge stimulate your jawbone to keep it strong and healthy. An implant bridge can maintain good oral health by preventing teeth from shifting, preserving your bite, and distributing your biting forces evenly to avoid wear and tear on your teeth.
An implant bridge is a restoration you can count on for years. The durability of titanium implants provides a secure, lasting foundation for your bridge. Your porcelain restoration contributes strength, uniformity, and beauty to your smile. Together, they give you an attractive, functional smile you can rely on well into the future.
